Amar Singh Says Rahul Gandhi's Pro-Pakistan Image Won't be Shed; Bats For PM Modi's Healthcare Push; Watch Video

New Delhi, August 29: Rajya Sabha lawmaker Amar Singh, in a series of videos posted on his social media account, launched a tirade against the Opposition while showering heaps of praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the receiving end of his criticism is former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, whom Singh has charged of weakening India's position on Kashmir through his "irresponsible" remarks. 'Shameful': BJP Demands an Apology From Rahul Gandhi on His Kashmir Comments

In a clip shared on Singh's social media account, the former Samajwadi Party veteran said the Gandhi scion's remarks will cement his pro-Pakistan image among the detractors. "No amount of justification from the Congress and Randeep Surjewala ji will shed this," he said.

"Personally I respect Rahul Gandhi ji a lot. But his politics should be condemned. He came up with the 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' slogan before the elections, and people saw how it backfired," Singh added.

Notably, Gandhi's criticism of the government over the lockdown imposed in Kashmir Valley formed part of the letter which Pakistan's Human Rights Shireen Mazari wrote to the United Nations on Wednesday, alleging rights' violations in the frontier state.

Singh also posted another video in which he lauded the healthcare policies of the Narendra Modi government. The healthcare push of Modi regime, claimed the Rajya Sabha MP, is far ahead as compared to the work done in this sphere during the 10 years of UPA rule.

"Modi ji is taking revolutionary steps. Fit India Mission, Medical Colleges, Swachh Bharat and Ayushman Bharat Mission spell out his vision towards healthcare. For more than a decade I was the chairman of the parliamentary health committee but outcry for budget allocation was always unheard," he said.
