Deoband (UP), April 7: Weeks after the alliance with Congress failed for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav made his attacks sharper against Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party urging electorates not to divide votes as both Congress and BJP are same.

Urging the people to shun both the parties and vote en-masse for SP-BSP alliance, Yadav said at Deoband rally, "Not a single vote should be divided. Both the BJP and Congress are the same. There is not much difference between these parties." Samajwadi Party Manifesto: Akhilesh Yadav Promises Rs 3000/Month to Poor Women, 2% Tax on 'Rich Elite'.

Adding more, he said, "There is not much difference in Congress and BJP, if you will look at their policies. They are both the same. This grand alliance is meant to bring change in the country, but Congress party doesn’t want that, it wants to form govt in UP."

Attacking BJP, the SP chief said, "In the last Lok Sabha election he (Narendra Modi) was a chaiwala and now he is a chowkidar. Neither Uttar Pradesh's two-year-old BJP government nor the Centre's five-year-old government could do as much as our government did."

Echoing similar views, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo warned people against Congress. She said, "I'm warning, especially people of Muslim community, that Congress isn't in a position to fight BJP in UP. Only 'gathbandhan' can fight BJP. Congress knows this but they're going by mantra 'Hum jeete ya na jeete, gathbandhan nahi jeetna chahiye'."

Soon after the above comments, the Election Commission took cognisance and sought a report from the local administration. In the speech, she has allegedly warned members of the Muslim community to be cautious of Congress candidates in Uttar Pradesh.

The Lok Sabha Elections's first phase will take place on April 11 in 91 constituencies and the results will be declared on May 27.
