Chandigarh, August 26: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday filed a prosecution complaint former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress party leader Motilal Vora in connection with the case of Panchkula land allotment to the Associated Journals Limited (AJL). The complaint was filed before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Panchkula. The AJL, which is also a parent company of the National Herald Newspaper was also named in the complaint. The case is related to alleged irregularities and money laundering charges in the allotment of a plot in Panchkula by the then Hooda government in 1992. According to the ED, the net worth of the plot is estimated at Rs 64.93 crore. It is the first chargesheet in the case by the agency. According to reports, Hooda also favoured the AJL by granting them three extensions for construction in the said plot from May 1, 2008 to May 10, 2012. The company completed the construction in 2014. AJL is managed by senior Congress leaders, including members of the Gandhi family.
