Srinagar, August 10: In a bid to reach out to people, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, who is in Jammu and Kashmir to review the situation after Centre scrapped the special status of the state under Article 370, on Saturday visited Anantnag and interacted with locals there. In a video, NSA Ajit Doval is seen having a conversation with locals at a sheep market in Anantnag where animals have been brought for Eid al-Adha or Bakrid festival.
This is second such video of Doval in less than a week. Three days ago, Doval visited downtown Srinagar and spent over two hours in the area interacting with troops and local people. He was spotted sitting and interacting with a handful of local people outside shuttered down shops in an empty market place in South Kashmir's Shopian. He also had lunch with them. NSA Ajit Doval Interacts With Locals in Anantnag:
Between bites of wazwan, Doval was seen explaining to the people how the new set-up would ease people's lives by improving health facilities and education. "The government will make every effort to better the education of the children in the valley. It might not be as good as the private institutes, but you'll definitely see an improvement," he told the people.
"We want to create an atmosphere where people can live freely and prosper in their lives. We want you, your children and their children to make their name in the world and work for the country and Islam," the NSA told them. Doval also addressed groups of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force and the Indian Army personnel to boost their morale in the state's altered scenario. The Parliament on Tuesday approved a resolution ending applicability of Article 370 of the Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir and passed a bill for the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.
