The Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) has fielded Kirit Solanki, while the Indian National Congress has given a ticket to Raju Parmar from Ahmedabad West. Whereas, the Bahujan Samaj Party announced Tribhovandas Karsandas Vaghela from Ahmedabad West.

As of 2014, this constituency had seven Vidhan Sabha segments. Polling across this constituency will be held on April 23 while the counting of votes will take place on May 23. The Ahmedabad West constituency had first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Dr Kirit Premjibhai Solanki of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In the 2014 General Elections, BJP's Dr Kirit P Solanki had won the Ahmedabad West seat with a thumping majority and had defeated Ishwarbahi Dhanabhai Makwana of the Congress party.

The Lok Sabha polls 2019 will take place crosswise the nation between April 11, 2019, and May 23, 2019. While voting will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the national election results will be announced on May 23.
