Lucknow, August 14: Amid reports of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and lobby trying hard to get the permission to hold the Aero India show from Bengaluru to Lucknow, UP civil aviation minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' has said that anything is possible in UP as it is the janambhoomi of lord Ram and lord Krishna.

The minister further argued that if the UP government can hold the Kumbh Mela, it can also organise the Aero Show.

The minister added that the concerned department was waiting for permission from the Union Defence Ministry for conducting the show. The Aero India, is an air show and aviation exhibition which is held every two years in Bengaluru.

But this time, there has been a war of words over hosting the show, after UP CM Yogi Adityanath, while speaking at an event in Aligarh on Saturday, requested the Defence Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, to allow Uttar Pradesh to hold the Aero India show.

The UP Chief Minister also assured minister Nirmala Sitharaman, that Uttar Pradesh would ensure and put in place all the facilities required for the Aero Show.

The Defence Ministry has not made any formal announcement yet, but speculations are rife that the Aero Show, which was held in Bengaluru in February 2017, can be moved to Lucknow this year. The Aero Show is scheduled for October-November this year.

Meanwhile, the speculation about the possible change of venue of the Air Show, has sparked a political row in Karnataka. Deputy chief minister G Parmeshwara, slammed the Centre for politicising the issue and urged Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to clarify her stand on the issue.

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has reportedly written to the Prime Minister, and insisted that Bengaluru is the 'best choice' for holding Aero India. Union minister DV Sadanand Gowda also said that he would be meeting the defence minister on Tuesday and will request her to drop the idea of shifting the venue for the Aero India show.
