Uttar Pradesh, September 18: President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday hinted that his party would form an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh Yadav made this comment after the BSP supremo Mayawati said that she was ready to join an anti-BJP alliance if the party gets a respectable share of seats or otherwise fight alone while she had called on opposition parties to ally to defeat BJP in the state.
“Our party is not against the alliance, but our stand is very clear — that we will ally with a political party only if we get a respectable share of seats. Otherwise, our party feels it better to contest the elections alone,” Mayawati said on Sunday. Mayawati Averse to Grand Opposition Alliance? Addressing an event at SP headquarters in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Now, the people of the country want change, and all eyes are on Uttar Pradesh because UP’s verdict will be the country’s verdict. The BJP is jittery. It has damaged the country both economically and socially. It has left the social fabric in tatters."
“It’s time to show the BJP the door. We will form an alliance to oust the BJP,” said the former UP chief minister.
Prices have escalated, GST, and Demonetisation caused the economy to crash. The poor did not get anything from BJP, he added.
Praising the Vishwakarma community, he said, “Lord Vishwakarma is another form of Lord Brahma (the creator of the world in the Hindu pantheon) and is known for architecture. Several eminent inventors and several leaders have been from the Vishwakarma community."
