PM Narendra Modi Attacks TMC at Kisan Kalyan Rally in Midnapore, Says 'Even Doing Puja Has Become Difficult in West Bengal'
Modi's rally comes just about a fortnight after BJP national president Amit Shah's public meeting in Purulia district
West Bengal, July 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently addressing the Kisan Kalyan farmers rally at Midnapore, West Bengal. The main focus is on the Centre's recent decision to increase the MSP of Kharif crops. This is also the PM's first visit to the state this year. BJP has made steady inroads in various parts of the state, and there has been a massive gathering of people who have come to attend the rally from far off places.
He said, "We know the condition of Bengal right now. No benefits to farmers, no opportunities for youths. The government will double farmers' income by 2022, take care of poor. I hope West Bengal government will take the required steps to create infrastructure for farmers; we want our farmers to use the latest technology. There is an opportunity for a blue revolution. Bengal farmers can take benefit of fisheries."
Taking a dig at Trinamool Congress Party (TMC), Modi said, "The real face of 'Ma Mati Manush' is for everyone to see. There is ' murder your opponents' syndicate operating here. Nothing can happen in West Bengal without the permission of this syndicate. The syndicate operating here is just for the sake of vote bank and for just to stay in power. It alienates the rest of the people of West Bengal."
He further added, "Even doing 'Puja' has become difficult here. Main Mamata didi ka abhaari hun kyunki maine dekha ki aaj mere swagat mein unhone itne jhande lagaye aur isliye bhi ki swayam haath jod karke PM ke swaagat ke liye apne hoarding laga liye."
Before leaving for West Bengal, PM Modi tweeted informing his fans that one can also watch the rally live on your mobile via the NaMo App.
Modi's rally comes just about a fortnight after BJP national president Amit Shah's public meeting in Purulia district, wherein he claimed that BJP would win more than 22 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal.
