Kolkata, August 30: You may soon be able to click pictures of the iconic Howrah Bridge in Kolkata, which is one of the most photographed structures for many around the world, and an essential part of the city's skyline, according to a Times of India report. It is currently under consideration and Kolkata Port Trust which owns and maintains the bridge is thinking of withdrawing the restrictions on photography on the bridge.
KoPT Chairman Vinit Kumar as quoted in the report said, "Such restrictions are of no relevance today when satellite images of all structures and locations are available on the internet. Earlier this year, Howrah Bridge celebrated their 75th anniversary, which has been connecting the twin city of Kolkata and Howrah, on either side of River Hooghly in Bengal. The Howrah Bridge is one of the busiest bridges in the country, which was opened in 1943. Due to the photography ban on one of the most beautiful structures, many people from across the world have fallen into trouble.
