Mumbai, May 28: There is no relief, as fuel rates continue to rise for the 15th day in a row on Monday, taking the cost of petrol and diesel to a record high. According to the data from oil marketing major Indian Oil, , in Mumbai, one litre of petrol is at Rs 86.08/litre as compared to Sunday's rate of Rs 85.93/litre. The diesel rate in the city is at Rs 73.64/litre. The cost of petrol in Delhi today is at Rs 78.27/litre, and those having diesel cars will have to spend Rs 69.17 per litre.

In Kolkata too, petrol prices have shot to Rs 80.91/litre and Rs 81.26/litre in Chennai. Diesel rates in Kolkata are at Rs 71.72/litre and Rs 73.03/litre in Chennai.

According to reports, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had earlier said that the government will intervene to reduce prices, however, there has been no respite till now. There has been news of discussions going on between oil marketing companies and the finance ministry on how to deal with rising fuel prices since long.
