The constant rise for the last few days caused a lot of inconvenience to the general public. People condemned the Centre for failing to take any action and curb the rise in petrol prices. To which, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan earlier had assured the public that the government will soon take out a solution to tackle the situation.

Pradhan had also pointed out that some of the reasons that were affecting the fuel prices were- less production of oil in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and hike in crude oil price in the international market. Pradhan had earlier expressed that the Centre and the state governments were considering to bring petroleum products under the ambit of GST.
