Bihar, August 7: A tragedy took place at Patna Junction Railway Station today when a 70-year-old man died after a wall of a bathroom collapsed in the second class passengers' waiting room on platform 1, according to an ANI report. Reportedly, the incident took place early in the morning, the sudden noise of the collapse led many fellow passengers to rush inside. The elderly victim was pulled out and given first aid. However, he succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.

More details on the same are awaited. Rail authorities are currently investigating the matter. The incident comes as a massive blot on the face of the Indian Railways, and it shows how the property was not maintained.
The Railway Board has recently sanctioned more than Rs 3 crore to improve security at Patna Junction, and Rajendra Nagar Terminal. Under this, the two stations will be put under 24*7 CCTV camera surveillance.
