Himachal Pradesh, September 11: In a tragic incident that took place in April this year, where at least 26 school children died after a bus ferrying them fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district. According to an ANI update, parents of students who died, crawled at the office of District administration in Dharamshala as a mark of protest yesterday, demanding CBI inquiry into the incident. The accident was reported from Nurpur area in Kangra, where a private bus ferrying 40 school students skidded off the highway and plunged into a deep gorge. The rescue operation was initiated by the local police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) after the accident was reported.

In the tragic accident, the driver of the bus also died. The children, enrolled in the Wazir Ram Singh Memorial School, were being dropped back home when the accident occurred. Reportedly, nine children were reported dead, and 17 others succumbed to their injuries on being rushed to the hospital.
