Uttar Pradesh, July 19: Inspired by PM Narendra Modi's speech- that it is better to sell 'pakoras' than remain unemployed, three-middle aged unemployed men in the state, have opened a pakora shop near their residence. The three-men have been able to recover an initial investment of Rs 5,000 for this business within a week. They have been sitting jobless at home for the last year.
In 2018, PM Modi had said-"If a person selling pakodas (snacks) earns Rs 200 at the end of the day, will it be considered employment or not." Ever since then, many have been inspired by his remarks, which have also drawn criticism from the Opposition parties.
Last year, there was a news on how a Congress party worker, who also holds a post-graduate degree in Hindi Literature, is a proud owner of a pakoda stall chain - Shriram Dalwada Centre. He took a cue from PM Modi's interview and the store that he started in Vadodara has more than 35 franchisees in the city.
