Patna, May 5: An image of a Pakistani girl is being used on booklets promoting 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative of the government in Bihar. The faux pas was committed in the state's Jamui district.
Apart from the stationery meant to promote the girl education campaign, the image was also used in the 'Swach Jamui, Swasth Jamui' program for cleanliness in the district.
After the incident drew embarrassment to the administration, District Coordinator of Sanitation and Water, Sudhir Kumar, said it was a clerical mistake.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the incident, news agency ANI reported. Action would be taken against the erring officials, CMO sources added.
The notebooks bearing the image of the Pakistani girl have been distributed in all state-run schools of the district.
Noteworthy, the girl is also seen painting the Pakistani flag in the photograph.
The same photograph has also been used by various non-governmental organisations involved in various humanitarian works in Pakistan. The UNICEF had also used the image while promoting its campaign for 'educating the girl child' in Pakistan.
