New Delhi, Feb 21: A Pakistani helicopter violated border airspace at the Line of Control on Wednesday. The chopper, identified as Mi-17 helicopter, was spotted within 300-metre radius of LoC in Poonch region of Jammu & Kashmir.

The helicopter flew back shortly after violating the airspace. No gunfire or any other form of hostility was reported from either side.

The chopper, according to reports violated the airspace at around 9:45 am. It was spotted close to the Gulpur sector in the general area of Poonch.

"The chopper went back soon after. There was no firing or hostile action from any side," a senior official was reported as saying.

As per the border airpace rules inked between India and Pakistan, any rotary wing aircraft from either side cannot come within a kilometre-radius of the LoC. The rules are more strict for fixed wing aircrafts, which are barred from entering within the 10-km radius of the de-facto border.

No statement was issued by the Pakistani side on the incident.
