From slapping a doctor to linking 'Islam with terrorism', Anant Kumar Hegde has always been in the news for all the wrong reasons. BJP's Union Minister is back again with another controversial statement, by calling ugly names to the Opposition and referring to them as 'monkeys and donkeys'. He urged the audience to make a wise decision by voting for their party, which is led by Narendra Modi, whom he refers as the tiger.
According to an ANI report, he has been quoted as saying, "On one side crows, monkeys, foxes and others have come together, on the other side we have a tiger. In 2019, choose to elect the tiger."
He further said, "We are sitting on plastic chairs, isn't it? This is due to Congress rule, had we ruled for 70 years, you would have been sitting on silver chairs."

The Minister was in the news a few days back for his erratic comment saying that knowledge of Sanskrit will be essential to build super computers as it is the only language which is capable of adapting to next-generation technology.
In April, Hedge received a call on his landline threatening to kill him. The person first tried to call him on his mobile number, but since it was from an internet call, he didn't receive. Immediately after some time, there was a call on his landline, when his wife picked up, the call got disconnected. Finally, when the call was received by Hedge himself, the person on the other side abused him and threatened to kill him. The minister disconnected the call, without giving the person another chance to insult him. A complaint then was lodged at the Sirsi Police station.
