Mumbai, November 15: Cab aggregators Ola and Uber in Mumbai have once again decided to go on strike from November 17, if their demands are not met. Commuters availing this mode of transport is likely to be hassled once again. The drivers were on a 12-day strike prior to November 3, and they withdrew their strike following a meeting between their union and Maharashtra transport minister Diwakar Raote. The intention was not to create more problems for commuters during Diwali, so the strike was called off temporarily. The cab drivers demanded increased earnings and better shift hours. Earlier, the Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) - that was leading the strike - said most of the issues had been resolved with the Ola management, but talks with Uber still remained inconclusive. Ola agreed to give incentives to the drivers without adding an unnecessary burden on the passengers.
Passengers in the city had a harrowing time, from seeing surge pricing to a longer waiting time. However, there was less traffic on the road because of the absence of online cab aggregators on the roads during the strike period.
