As per reports, online cab aggregators Uber and Ola, have threatened to switch off their devices and go on a strike on March 19, all over the country. It is believed that, cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Gurgaon is expected to feel the shortage in cabs.
Over the year, businesses of these drives have fallen due to mismanagement of these companies. So reportedly, the drivers, along with their families, will be protesting outside the office of Uber and Ola. Sanjay Naik, Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena, which is organizing the protest in Mumbai has been quoted in the report says, “If they do not take our demands seriously then this protest can be indefinite.”
As per reports, the main demands of the unions are that Ola and Uber should ensure business worth Rs 1.25 lakh as assured by them in the beginning, shut operations of company-owned cabs, reinstate blacklisted drivers who have been given low ratings by passengers, decide fares as per cost of vehicles and stop low fare booking.
