Noida Woman Forced to Drink Acid by Sister-in-Law & Family, Victim in Critical State
Neighbours allegedly rushed to help the victim after screams for help were heard.
New Delhi, September 10: In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly forced to drink acid by the members of her sister-in-law’s family after news of a domestic dispute in Ecotech 3 area of Greater Noida on Sunday came up. According to a Hindustan Times report, the victim Reshma, who is from Ghaziabad is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi and is currently in a critical condition. Police are yet to confirm the charges of forced acid consumption. Neighbours allegedly rushed to help the victim after screams for help were heard.
The police as quoted in the report said, "When the neighbours reached her house, they saw Reshma lying unconscious on the floor. She was taken to a nearby hospital from where she was shifted to Noida district hospital and later to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. They have detained five members of both the families.
