Patna, July 9: Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) Nitish Kumar on Monday hit out at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and said that he would not inquire about Lalu Prasad Yadav's health now onwards. Nitish Kumar was visibly irked by the response of Tejashwi after the Chief Minister inquired about Lalu Yadav's health on June 26.
"Not once, I inquired four times about Lalu Yadav 's health but not anymore. From now I will keep updates about him through the newspapers," Nitish Kumar was quoted as saying. Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is out on bail after conviction in fodder scam cases, is being treated at the Asian Heart Hospital. Tejashwi had a stinging reply for Nitish after he inquired about Lalu's health.
"There is no guarantee that if we, speaking hypothetically, agree to yet another tie-up, he would not ditch us some time later. The door is now closed," Tejashwi, the opposition leader in Bihar Assembly, had said. "Surprisingly, Nitish ji got to know about his ill health after four months of hospitalization," he had added.
After a setback in 2014 general elections, Nitish Kumar had joined Grand Alliance with the RJD and the Congress in 2015 assembly elections. He quit the Grand Alliance in July 2017 over corruption charges against Tejashwi Yadav and formed state government with the BJP. Since then, Tejaswi has been making scathing attacks on the Chief Minister.
