Nipah Virus OutBreak: Kerala Govt Offers Job To Nurse Lini Puthuserry’s Husband, Rs 10 lakhs Each to Her Sons
On consultation with the family, her body was cremated at an electronic crematorium by the authorities, to avoid the virus from spreading, if present in the body of the deceased nurse.
Kerala, May 23: The deadly Nipah Virus has claimed several lives in Kerala, as a result of the tension, other places like Telangana is also on high alert. Recently, Lini Puthuserry, a 31-year-old nurse from Perambra, Kerala, died while trying to save the lives of other patients; being inflicted with the fatal virus.
According to a recent report on ANI, as compensation, the Kerala Cabinet has offered a government job to Lini's husband and Rs 10 lakh each to her two sons. The government also further announced to give Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the kin of the other victims of the Nipah virus.
According to reports, Lini treated three infected person, and she succumbed to her illness on Monday morning around 2 am. Before she passed away, she had scribbled a letter to her husband, who works in the Gulf. It read: "Sajeesh Etta, am almost on the way. I don't think I will be able to see you all, sorry. You should look after our kids well. Elder son, Kunju, you should take him to the Gulf once. Make sure (that) they are not alone as our father (was). With lots of love...
