Mumbai, January 19: A person from Maharashtra's Aurangabad district, Sachin Jamdhare, alleged that there was plastic in food which he ordered using mobile app Zomato. “While eating the food,my daughter complained that it was hard. However, the owner of the restaurant which prepared the food blamed the Zomato delivery boy for the incident. The hotel owner has also registered a police complainant. "Zomato rider must have changed it. I've lodged police complaint” said the owner.

In December last year, Zomato had come under fire after a video went viral on social media which showed a delivery boy eating food on the way and then repacking it. The video shocked many and went viral on all platforms. Zomato responded to the video and said they will ensure such things aren't repeated and will take care about food safety and tampering. They also sacked the delivery boy from their delivery fleet.
