Guntur, June 20: The ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh has taken their political rivalry with opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to a new extent. On Wednesday, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP workers in a village in Guntur district constructed a wall to stop TDP supporters from using the road, claiming that it is private property. The wall, nearly three-feet tall, was constructed in Ponugupadu village. While Chandrababu Naidu's party worker claimed that the road was made for the public and used for decades, the ruling party workers claimed that it was private property. In an attempt to resolve the issue, the police officials posted a picket and referred the matter to the revenue department. 'YSR Cong Workers Damage Plaque Unveiled by Naidu'

As the matter has a caste angle, a peace meeting was held where people from both the groups were invited to resolve the issue, but in vain. The supporters of TDP mostly belong to the upper caste, while the YSRCP supporters belong to backward classes.

Earlier in a similar incident, YSRCP supporters were booked after they allegedly dug up a concrete road built by the previous government, alleging that the people using the road had not supported and voted for Jagan Reddy, the newly elected chief minister of the state.
