Rohtak, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took part in a Yoga session in Haryana's Rohtak. The event was also attended by state chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. However, the event ended in a poor note as people started to fight with each other while looting the yoga mats during the event. According to a video shared by news agency ANI, people can be seen fighting for ‘Made in China’ yoga mats. The incident has gone viral on social media. The people were seen snatching mats. According to reports, the mats meant for local people were made of khadi, while the ones used by ministers, civil servants and VIPs were imported from China. Although the organisers managed to save some mats, the incident has become a matter of huge embarrassment for the organisers.
Earlier today, Amit Shah participated in Yoga sessions also with Khattar. The event was also attended by Haryana ministers Manish Grover, Anil Vij, senior BJP leader Anil Jain, BJP MP Arvind Sharma and state BJP chief Subhash Barala. After the event, the Union Minister had praised Haryana CM for setting up a Yoga council in the state.
