Yavatmal: Man Arrested in Theft Case Consumes Gutkha, Spits on Court Premises; Judge Cancels His Bail and Sends Him Back to Jail After Seeing His Act on CCTV

In a bizarre turn of events, an accused in a theft case lost his bail after spitting on court premises in Yavatmal. Govinda Manoj Jadhav, who had been sentenced to one year imprisonment and fined INR 1,000 by the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court, challenged the verdict in the Additional District and Sessions Court on July 22.

Yavatmal, August 15: In a bizarre turn of events, an accused in a theft case lost his bail after spitting on court premises in Yavatmal. Govinda Manoj Jadhav, who had been sentenced to one year imprisonment and fined INR 1,000 by the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court, challenged the verdict in the Additional District and Sessions Court on July 22. The court granted him bail, but his freedom was short-lived.

While waiting at the court premises, Govinda consumed gutkha and spat three times on a pillar in the waiting room. Unbeknownst to him, Judge Hemant Satbhai observed this act on CCTV. The situation worsened when Govinda was issued a notice on August 12 to explain his actions. Upon his return to court, a medical examination revealed he had consumed alcohol, further violating the conditions of his bail. Judge Satbhai, citing both the spitting incident and the breach of bail terms, ordered Govinda back to prison. In another news, Gautam Buddha Nagar police arrested a murder convict who was out on bail for allegedly killing a 19-year-old Bihar native last week,  following a shootout at Chandigarh trijunction in Rabupura Saturday. The police had found the victim’s body in the cabin of a truck parked on the Noida Expressway under the Rabupura police station area.

The deceased was identified as Imran Ansari, a truck driver who hailed from Gaya. Officials said three teams were formed to trace and arrest the accused, Amit Kumar, 40, a resident of Badi village in Sonipat, Haryana who was also working as a truck driver.
