Lakhimpur, February 17: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Sunday said that the Narendra Modi led government at the centre will not allow Assam to become another Kashmir and this is why we have brought NRC- (National Register of Citizens). Addressing a rally in Assam's Lakhimpur, Shah said that the NRC had been brought in to recognise infiltrators and the BJP will free Assam of all such aliens by deporting them. "We will not allow Assam to become another Kashmir. That is why we have brought NRC (National Register of Citizens). We will deport each and every infiltrator with the help of NRC. We are committed to that," Shah said during a rally. The BJP President also criticised Indian National Congress and its former ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), for doing nothing to fulfil Assam Accord despite ruling since 1985. Speaking on the Pulwama terrorist attack, Shah said, " This cowardly act was done by Pakistani terrorists. Their (jawans') sacrifices will not go in vain, because there is no Congress government at the Centre. It is BJP government and the Narendra Modi government will not compromise on any security issue."
In the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, at least 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives, the attack was carried by Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-E-Mohammed (JeM) whose suicide bomber packed with more than 100 kgs of explosives rammed SUV in a CRPF convoy.
