Mumbai, September 19: The Narendra Modi-led government introduced the new Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha of the new Parliament building today, September 19. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced the bill in the first sitting of Lok Sabha in the new Parliament building. Also known as the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, the Women's Reservation Bill proposes to increase women's seats in Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
Speaking about the Women's Reservation Bill, Meghwal said that the number of seats for women in Lok Sabha will increase to 181 once the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is passed. As per reports, the discussion to pass the Women's Reservation Bill, aka Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, will be held in the Lok Sabha tomorrow, September 20, while the bill will be discussed in the Rajya Sabha on September 21.
