A 26-year old's attempt to save her marriage has backfired on her twice-fold. The woman sought the help of a tantrik to solve the problems in her marriage, as she suspected of her husband having an affair. The tantrik performed several 'pujas and rituals' and extracted Rs 61,000 from the woman. Unfortunately for the woman, despite shelling out so much money, the husband has asked her for a divorce. So along with her money, the woman is also on the verge of losing her married life. The tantrik has been arrested and taken on two-day police remand for questioning. The woman, a resident of the Devilal Nagar colony in Gurugram approached the tantrik who sits near the Gurgaon bus stand after she read an advertisement about him claiming he solves all types of problems. The woman's husband has been neglecting her and their three-year-old son for about six months. He was also staying away from home so she suspected of him having an extra-marital affair. Apparently, after the rituals, the woman even noticed some changes in her husband but soon he demanded a divorce. The woman rushed to the tantrik again and he told her husband “has gone out of control and would not return”. The woman then approached the police and the tantrik  Mazid, alias Sameer, was arrested. He has been booked under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC.
