New Delhi, December 23: India Meteorological Department has predicted dense to very dense fog in the morning hours likely during next five days and cold wave conditions during December 24th to 27th over north Rajasthan. Dense to very dense fog is also expected over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Tripura during the next 2 days.

In Uttar Pradesh as well, a similar condition is expected to prevail during the next five days. Other than the dense fog,  cold to severe cold conditions is expected at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during next two days and at isolated to few places for the subsequent three days. The biting cold continued to sweep Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and several other northern states. Narnaul in Haryana shivered at 4.5 degrees Celsius. In Punjab, Ludhiana was the coldest place which recorded a low of 4.8 degrees Celsius. Due to the dense fog, which lowers the visibility, several flights got cancelled and delayed.
