Surat, March 7: A textile mill in Surat manufactured sarees depicting the airstrikes by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror camp in Balakot in Pakistan. According to a tweet by ANI, the mill has made sarees with images showing the airstrikes in Balakot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier this month, another textile mill in Gujarat had made a batch of sarees as a tribute to the jawans who were martyred in the Pulwama attack. Surat Mill Makes Sarees to Pay Tribute to Bravehearts Martyred in Pulwama Attack.

IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman returned home on March 1 to a hero's welcome, two days after he was captured following a dogfight when his MiG 21 was shot down.Pakistani officials handed over Varthaman to Indian officials, including from the IAF, at the Attari-Wagah Border. On February 27, Varthaman was captured by Pakistani authorities after an air combat between the air forces of the two countries, a day after New Delhi had conducted counter-terror operations in Pakistan's Balakot. Abhinandan Varthaman Remains in High Spirit Despite Mental Harassment in Pakistan.

On February 26, India bombed and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) biggest training camp in Balakot in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. A total of 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets carried by airstrikes around 3:30 am on February 24. The payload dropped by the Indian Air Force weighed as much as 1000 kilogrammes. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale informed that a large number of terrorists including trainers and senior commanders have been killed in the airstrikes. However, Pakistan strongly rejected India's claim of targeting terrorist camp  and causing heavy casualties and vowed to respond "at the time and place of its choosing" to what it called India's "uncalled for aggression".
