Delhi, June 21: In a significant legal development, the Rouse Avenue Courts on Thursday, June 20, granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged liquor policy scam. The decision to grant bail was made by presiding Vacation Judge Nyay Bindu, who had reserved the order earlier and finalised it yesterday. This ruling follows Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, after which he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court until June 1 due to the timing coinciding with general elections. Arvind Kejriwal Granted Bail: Delhi Court Grants Bail to AAP Leader in Money Laundering Case Linked to Liquor Policy.

Judge Nyay Bindu is recognised for her tenure as a senior civil judge of the North West District at Rohini Court in Delhi, bringing a wealth of judicial experience to high-profile cases. In this instance, Judge Bindu extended Kejriwal's custody until July 3 before ultimately granting him bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court also imposed stringent conditions, including directives for Kejriwal not to obstruct the investigation or influence witnesses. Excise Policy Case: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's Judicial Custody Extended Till July 3.

Arvind Kejriwal's legal troubles began when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him on March 21. The ED had opposed Kejriwal's bail plea, alleging that he had stayed at a seven-star hotel in Goa, the bill for which was paid through kickback money. The agency also argued that while Kejriwal might not have directly committed the offence, as the leader of AAP, he bears responsibility for any wrongdoing by the party. Arvind Kejriwal's grant of bail by Judge Nyay Bindu marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing legal saga surrounding allegations of money laundering linked to Delhi's now-scrapped liquor policy.
