Amritsar, September 2: Jasdeep Singh Gill was nominated as the new head and 'Sant Satguru' of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society (RSSB), taking immediate charge today. Former head Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon nominated Jasdeep Singh Gill as his successor, wishing he would receive full support and love of the Sangat in carrying out his services as a patron and Sant Satguru.
In their announcement of Jasdeep Singh Gill as the organisation's new leader, RSSB secretary Devender Kumar Sikri wrote, “Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon has nominated Jasdeep Singh Gill, son of Sukhdev Singh Gill, as patron of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society with immediate effect from September 2, 2024. Jasdeep Singh Gill shall also succeed Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon as the Sant Satguru of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society and will have the authority of giving initiation (naam)."
"Baba Ji has expressed that like he has received full support and love of the ‘sangat’ after Huzur Maharaj ji, he has wished and requested that the same love and affection be given to Jasdeep Singh Gill in carrying out his ‘sewa (service)’ as patron and sang satguru, (sic)" added Sikri. Who Is Jasdeep Singh Gill?
Jasdeep Singh Gill, who is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD), did his Master's and PhD in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US and the University of Cambridge in the UK, respectively. He worked as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at the pharmaceutical company Cipla Limited until he stepped down in May 2024. Gill was associated as a board observer in Wealthy Therapeutics and Ethris and Achira Labs Private Limited. Beyond this, he also served as executive assistant to the CEO at Ranbaxy Laboratories. What Is Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society?
Headquartered near Amritsar on the banks of the Beas River, Punjab's Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society is a non-profit spiritual organisation founded by Jaimal Singh in 1891. Based on the teachings of Shiv Dayal Singh of the Radha Soami movement, the sect follows the spiritual beliefs found at the heart of major religions of the world, under the mentorship of a living spiritual teacher. Starting with Jaimal Singh, the organisation has had four other leaders so far - Sawan Singh, Sardar Bahadur Maharaj Jagat Singh, Maharaj Charan Singh and Gurinder Singh. Jasdeep Singh Gill is the sixth and latest leader of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society.
