Kolkata, October 31: Eight men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old newlywed woman and assaulting her husband on railway tracks near Kanchrapara station of West Bengal, in the early hours. According to police, the young couple, recently thrown out by their families who disapproved of their marriage, had no place to go and decided to spend the night at the station. Police reports reveal the woman was dragged into nearby bushes and gang-raped, while her husband was physically attacked.
