West Bengal Poll Violence: BJP Candidates' Office, House Ransacked by Alleged 'TMC Goons'
Bengali actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Hoogly candidate Locket Chatterjee's rented resident was allegedly attacked by miscreants on Friday morning.
Hoogly, April 19: Bengali actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Hoogly candidate Locket Chatterjee's rented resident was allegedly attacked by miscreants on Friday morning. The residence is located in Bandel, Hoogly. Reportedly, Chatterjee was present at the house at the time of the attack. The goons gained excess to the house carrying BJP flags and once they were inside, they vandalised.
Speaking to media, actor-turned-politician said, "I am a woman. To stop me, they have dared to enter my bedroom! My clothes have been strewn all over. I will approach the Police for protection. I will register a complaint with the Police. My medicines, my clothes, utensils, they have vandalized everything." West Bengal: Youth BJP Worker Found Hanging From Tree in Purulia.

In a similar incident, the office of BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Dum Dum, Samik Bhattacharya, was ransacked. BJP members were attacked by goons, in the attack a saffron party leader, Chandi Charan Rai, was injured. Rai has been admitted to the hospital.

Every election, West Bengal is in news for political violence. On Thursday, a BJP worker was killed and his body was founded hanging in Purulia district. During the first and second phase of elections, rampant polling malpractice and violence was reported in the state.
