West Bengal: Man Dies by Suicide in Salt Lake After His Mother Goes Missing, Body Found Hanging From Fan at Home

Salt Lake, October 9:  Aranya Roy, a 33-year-old man, reportedly took his own life in the Purbachal area of Salt Lake, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. Aranya, a professional designer, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the drawing room of their rented residence on Saturday morning, October 7, with police estimating that he might have ended his life between 24 to 48 hours before the discovery.

According to the Times of India report, neighbours who had noticed a foul smell coming from the Roy household found Roy hanging from a fan in the hall of their residence. Initially suspecting a sewage issue, they called a plumber, only to find that the smell was coming from Aranya's residence. Upon entering, they were confronted with the tragic sight of his lifeless body. Despite extensive efforts to locate her across Kolkata and North 24 Parganas, she remains missing. Aranya and his mother had been residing at their current address for approximately five months, keeping to themselves and rarely interacting with neighbours. Neighbours even suggested that financial difficulties may have played a role in this tragic event, as it is believed that the mother-son duo may have been struggling to meet their car loan payments.
