Kolkata, October 4:  In a dramatic incident, three history-sheeters, including Karna Bera, escaped from police custody while they were being taken to Contai Court in East Midnapore on Thursday. It must be noted that Bera has been accused of murdering policeman Naba Kumar Maity two years ago while committing robbery on the highway. According to a tweet by ANI, Bera hurled a bomb while trying to escape from the sight of the policemen. Reports inform that after an hour-long drama, Bera was arrested again while the other two managed to escape.

Police informed that the incident took place around 12 noon, when four history-sheeters including Karna Bera were taken to the court. According to a PTI report, when the General Register Officer (GRO) resisted them, Bera fired at him twice from a close range. Moreover, reports inform that the miscreants then hurled bombs to disperse the locals who tried to stop them from fleeing.
