New Delhi, August 29: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain for several parts of India for the next five days. An orange alert has been issued for Kerala, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The weather department has also warned of the possibility of water logging, disruption of traffic, landslides and more.
According to the weather department, fairly widespread or moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Monday. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next five days. Similar conditions are also likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during this time.
The Met department has also predicted widespread rain for north interior Karnataka, Telangana and Rayalaseema on August 30. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe and coastal Karnataka are also likely to receive widespread rainfall over the next few days.
