Dehradun, September 21: One of the four accused arrested for allegedly raping their classmate in Dehradun has reportedly confessed to having being intrigued by watching porn. A class 10 student was allegedly gangraped by four of her seniors from Class XII at a boarding school in Dehradun on August 14. According to a TOI report, police have said that one of the accused said that he was instigated to rape their junior after watching a porn movie on his mobile phone.

The police had on Monday arrested nine persons including five school staffers in connection with the gangrape. The school officials have been arrested on charges of hushing up the crime by trying to terminate the rape survivor's pregnancy.

According to reports, the 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by four students who are said to be students of class XII of the same school. The incident came to light when the one-month pregnant survivor narrated her ordeal to her sister. However, the school management tried to hush up the matter and gave her some drinks to terminate the pregnancy, the girl reportedly said in her complaint.

Earlier incidents of watching porn leading to rape

The reports of incidents of rape followed by teenagers getting easy access to porn have been on the rise. In July this year, five boys allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl in their neighbourhood when her parents were not at home in Sahaspur. During questioning by police, the boys, aged between nine and 14 years, said that they had watched pornography on a mobile phone two days before committing the crime.

In a similar incident, a four-year-old was allegedly raped by children between the age of six and ten years in Maharajpur police station area on June 30. Reports said that the police suspected that the children had watched pornographic content on their phone.
