Mumbai, August 13: Heavy rainfall lashed several places of Chhattisgarh over the last week, triggering flood-like situations in the state. According to a tweet by ANI, a dog got washed away in Chhattisgarh's flood-hit Dhamtari on Sunday while the other dog crossed over the path safely. According to the weather department, a Pacific storm is seen boosting the monsoon this week and the northern states are likely to witness heavy rainfall.

The weather pattern has brought rain not just along the flood-hit areas of Kerala and Karnataka but Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing rain. According to combined weather summary of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, extremely heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over Vidarbha, while heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places over Vidarbha, at many places over Chhattisgarh and at few places over East Madhya Pradesh and isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh. The chief amount of rainfall in Chhattisgarh till Sunday was- Bhanupratappur 16, Bhopalpatnam 13, Deobhog 9, Bijapur 8, Arang 7, Surajpur 6, Balod 5, Dantewara, 4, Kanker 4, Baikunthpur 4, Rajim 3, Konta 3, Gariabund 2, Janakpur 2, Pali 2, Mana-Raipur-ap 2, Jagdalpur 2, Dhamtari 2.
