Visakhapatnam: Sailor On Board INS Shivalik Attempts Suicide by Shooting Himself With Service Revolver

Visakhapatnam, January 17: In a tragic incident, Amith Kumar, a sailor on security sentry duty at the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver on board the naval vessel INS Shivalik today. According to an ANI update, he is under treatment at the hospital.
The news comes just a day after 25-year-old Navy Sailor was found dead with bullet injury at the INS Angre naval base. According to reports, the sailor may have shot himself with his INSAS rifle while on duty, said police. An accidental death report was filed and police are investigating the matter further. The Akhilesh Yadav was posted at INS Angre, Colaba on security duty. The incident took place at around 7:15 pm on Thursday. The sailor was found with bullet injuries.
