Mumbai, December 12: The UK court ordered the extradition of businessman Vijay Mallya to India. The Westminister Court ordered the fugitive to be sent to India who is wanted in the country in a money laundering case. Described as "bejewelled playboy" by a judge in UK court, the businessman no more has his jewellery to flaunt. Vijay Mallya's cars, watches, gold jewellery and gemstone all lies with the UK court. Mallya's counsel Amit Desai was quoted to special court trial judge M S Azmi as per TOI report, "He has handed over to the bailiff of the court in UK, even his watch, jewellery and his cars. He doesn't have a single asset in his possession." The court had recently issued an order to sell six of the posh cars of the liquor baron to pay back to the banks. Mallya has made debts close to Rs 10,000 crore. The court order stated that enforcement officers are "at liberty to sell" the business man's luxurious vehicles. Mallya already handed over Range Rover, two Ferraris, a Porsche Cayenne, a Mini Countryman and a Maybach 62 and his yachts to the court bailiff.
According to the same report, nine automobiles, three yachts, seven jewellery pieces, nine watches, two gemstones and an antique suit of armour replete with 12 swords and two shields of Mallya's belonging are handed over to the court. He handed over his assets in July 2018. Mallya's automobile fleet alone is worth Rs 16 crore. His three yachts are worth Rs 30 crores, two of which were South Hampton and France. Mallya's jewellery includes diamond earrings worth Rs 3 crores, a sapphire ring, a diamond bracelet and a diamond ring of nearly Rs 3 crore again. His precious gemstone collection is worth Rs 9 crore. Other than this Mallya has his bank accounts, fixed deposits and shares with him.
