Hatsingimari, December 26: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal in Hatsingimari, Assam on Wednesday threatened to smash the head of a journalist who asked him if he'll ally with Congress or BJP in future. Maulana Ajmal said, “Go dogs, for how much money have you been bought by BJP? Go away, I will smash your head. Go register a case against me.” The video of the incident went viral on social media.
The incident took place during a press briefing at Hatsingimari in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar district to felicitate the winning candidates of the party in the recently-held Panchayat polls. According to reports, Ajmal lost his cool following a question of ETV Bharat’s reporter about the possible alliance of the AIUDF in the coming Lok Sabha elections. AIUDF chief also verbally abused the reporter. Meanwhile, Digital Media Journalists’ Association of Assam (DiMJAA) condemned the act of the Member of Parliament. Ajmal is an MP from Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency. He is also the president of the Assam State Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind.
