Chennai, November 8: Vehicular movement was disrupted in Chennai after Bharatiya Janata Party's Tamil Nadu chief L Murugan took out "Vetri Val Yatra" on Sunday. According to news agency ANI, an ambulance was stuck in the traffic jam on Poonamallee High Road in Chennai for half an hour during BJP's "Vetri Val Yatra." The traffic on the roads could not move as a huge procession of BJP supporter participated in the yatra flagged by L Murugan. The BJP's Tamil Nadu President had earlier tried to take out the "Vetri Val Yatra" on November 6. The police had however, stopped his supporters from participating in the Yatra and detained him. L Murugun said,"State government is allowing other parties to take out processions & hold agitation. It's my constitutional right," as reported by the ANI. The state government has repeatedly denied the permission to the BJP's Tamil Nadu President to conduct the "Vetri Val Yatra." CM Edappadi K Palaniswami had refused to give the permission citing the COVID-19 outbreak. There is restriction in the state on large gatherings owing to the coronavirus spread.
