Vasai-Virar Mayor Rupesh Jadhav Resigns To Focus on Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019

Vasai-Virar Mayor Rupesh Jadhav has resigned for his position. From last two-three days, there were speculations about his resignation but Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi (BVA) president Hitendra Thakur has confirmed the reports.

Vasai, July 26: Vasai-Virar Mayor Rupesh Jadhav has resigned for his position. From last two-three days, there were speculations about his resignation but Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi (BVA)  president  Hitendra Thakur has confirmed the reports. This development comes following BVA's defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections in May. 'Made in Pakistan' Products Sold at Big Bazaar in Palghar's Vasai; Shiv Sena Protests.

According to reports, Rupesh Jadhav will now focus on assembly elections which are scheduled to take place later this year. Meanwhile, in general elections, Shiv Sena's Rajendra Gavit defeated Bahujan Vikas Aghadi's Baliram Jadhav by 88,883 votes.

In 2014 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election, BVA bagged three seats from Nalasopara where Kshitij Thakur, Boisar where Vilas Tare and Vasai where Hitendra Thakur won the election. The BVA is also controlling the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) after winning municipal polls by 106 seats.

Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, previously known as Vasai Vikas Aghadi, is a political party based in Vasai-Virar region. BVA is headed by Hitendra Thakur who is the member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
