New Delhi, April 3: Amid the increasing menace of stone pelters, special patrolling squad equipped with action camera and heavy duty camcorders would now guard Vande Bharat express, reported Hindustan Times. The initiative is a part of security beef up exercise of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). “Initially, there used to be a regular patrolling squad. But now we have replaced the squad with the one armed with action camera and camcorders in order to capture the images of those engaged in the illegal act of stone pelting on the newly introduced train,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Amresh Kumar, senior divisional security commissioner RPF, Allahabad as saying. Train 18: Visuals From The Inside of 'Vande Bharat Express'; Watch Video.

Last weeks, the Indian Railways postponed the launch of the second set of 18 trains of Vande Bharat Express due to the Lok Sabha elections. These trains were scheduled for launch in April. The first set of these trains was flagged off on February 15 from New Delhi and completed the journey to Varanasi. The Vande Bharat Express is India's first engine-less train manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The train recently became India's fastest train by hitting a speed of over 180 kmph during a trial run. It would soon start replacing the Shatabdi Express trains and run between Delhi and Varanasi.
