Jammu, July 16: The new track to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine near Himkoti has been temporarily shut after a landslide occurred near Himkoti on Monday morning. According to a report by ANI, no injuries have been reported. Due to the landslide, the track has been temporarily closed for pilgrims.

In another rain-related incident from Jammu and Kashmir, a huge boulder rolled down the 100-feet high Siar Baba waterfall, a popular weekend getaway in  Reasi district on Sunday. The deadly incident killed at least seven people and injured 33 others who were taking a bath at the spot.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Tahir Sajad Bhat was quoted in a PTI report saying that several youngsters were among those bathing under the waterfall at Talwara, 10 kilometres from Reasi town when the loose rock and other debris fell on them.

According to a PTI report, an official spokesman said the government has sanctioned Rs 4 lakh each for next of kin of the deceased, while an immediate relief of Rs 30,000 would be provided to the people injured in the incident.
