Srinagar, July 31: Due to landslides, Vaishno Devi Yatra on the new track has been suspended. The yatra has been diverted to the traditional track. Helicopter services in Katra-Sanjichhat sector remain suspended due to bad weather conditions, according to an ANI tweet. Amarnath Yatra Suspended Due to Blockade of Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
Last month, due to thunderstorm and snapped electricity, Vaishno Devi Yatra was suspended for a brief period. Due to the windstorm, trees had fallen in several areas on the route. There was no damage to anyone except a few shops got affected.

The Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, a religious pilgrimage atop a hilltop that attracts lakhs of devotees from across the world every year, will get a dedicated in-house disaster response force by September next year. Last 86 lakh pilgrim visited the shrine, which was also the highest in the last five years.
