Vadodara, August 1: Video footage of a giant crocodile stalking two stray dogs and then launching an attack has been going viral on the internet, especially on Twitter. The video shared by Times of India is from Gujarat's Vadodara. The incident took place in Rajstambh society near Lalbaug. In a clip shared by TOI Vadodara, the reptile can be seen hiding in the muddy water. The two dogs are seen wading near the electricity pole as a half-submerged crocodile approaches in the background. Soon, the croc reaches too close to a dog and attacks the animal. Meanwhile, sighting snakes and crocodiles are normal during the monsoon. On July 3, forest department officials rescued a crocodile from Waghodia village, some 7.5 km away from Vadodara. The reptile was found in the Narmada canal which caused panic among the villagers.

On June 24, a crocodile strayed into Khodiyar Mata Temple in Gujarat's Mahisagar district. The reptile was rescued later, however, the rescue operations were delayed as villagers claimed that croc's presence is an auspicious one. Khodiyar Mata, a deity of Patel community, is mostly depicted riding on a crocodile.
