Vadodara, July 25: In a tragic accident, a pregnant woman in Vadodara city of Gujarat lost her unborn child after a minor, who was allegedly drunk, rammed a speeding car into a couple's scooter on Saturday, July 20. The accident occurred on Nimeta Road in the evening. The couple and their daughter suffered injuries and were hospitalised. The police officials have not received a formal report from the hospital regarding the incident. 

The nine-month pregnant woman, Deepika, was riding with her husband, Ravi, and her 6-year-old daughter, Kanisha, when the speeding car collided with their scooter. All three of them were injured in the accident. Police officials said that Deepika lost her nine-month-old unborn baby due to the injuries. The police are waiting for a formal report from the hospital. The car involved in the accident was reportedly driven by a minor who was allegedly drunk at the time. The accused has yet to be identified.  Vadodara Accident: Two Trucks Collide, 12 People Dead, Scores Injured.

Two similar cases were reported in Maharashtra recently. In Mumbai, a BMW, allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, who is the son of Shiv Sena leader, struck a couple on a scooter, resulting in death of a woman on July 7. Another incident involved a 17-year-old boy who, while allegedly under the influence of alcohol, crashed his Porsche into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two tech professionals in Pune.
